About Us
Our story begins on the streets of Chicago in 1958, Founder Dennis Thiakos started selling fresh produce out of the back of his truck. With hard work, honesty, and a passion for great service, Dennis built a loyal customer base and laid the foundation for what would become one of Chicago’s most trusted food and paper redistribution companies.
In 1994, his son, current CEO Mike Thiakos joined the business, bringing new energy and a vision for growth. Under Mike’s leadership, we expanded our offerings and, in 2013, moved from our original warehouse in Fulton Market to our current 180,000-square-foot facility. This move allowed us to scale up, purchase in greater volume, and pass those savings on to our customers. The company name change to DWF Food & Paper Redistributors, Inc. was part of our ongoing commitment to reflect our business’s growth and transformation in the new state-of-the-art facility.
Today, we continue to operate with the same values we were founded on—reliability, relationships, and rock-bottom pricing. Whether you’re a local redistributor, manufacturer, or just a man with a truck, we’re here to get you the products you need, when you need them, at a price that keeps your business thriving.
